Slut-Shaming preacher

A response to the Slut-Shaming preacher video:  http://m.vice.com/vice-profiles/slut-shaming-preacher

So – the video essentially starts off with the guy wearing a T-Shirt saying “You whore” and showing a woman stating how rude that is. He states his intent to show people they should change. She asks “Why am I a whore?” He didn't say that she was, but because the shirt was pointing at her with the “you whore” - she took it to mean her. The question for her, is why did she get so defensive at the shirt?

Essentially – my question is, how different is this then the person who first wore the “I'm with stupid” t-shirt? Essentially nothing different then the wording. The people who generally get offended by these types of things – are people who feel convicted of this.

Now – this guys goal is to preach against the sin of “immodesty”. Anything wrong with this? No – especially when there's all this hype lately about rapists, etc.

So, essentially we next see him preaching on a street corner saying “Give up your immodest clothing”.

Next we see a commentary of someone named Jessica Rech – essentially she says she doesn't know if brother Dean Saxton has relationships with women or not, but adds that she's not sure how or why some women agree with his view point.

Next Nissi Powell explains it well – he preaches to try and get a reaction out of people and hopes to convert people in the process. She adds that if his goal is to convert people, then he's doing a horrible job.

Then we see him going on a tangent on “you deserve rape”. Now – from a human rights perspective, I'd have to say quite the opposite you don't deserve rape. My problem is – I'm not 100% in favour of human rights. I agree with them to a point, but in my book they even go against the teachings of the Bible.

Am I saying one deserves rape? No – what I'm going to say is much worse. Because of our sin – we are deserving of every horrible possible thing imaginable to happen to us. Now – as bad as that sounds, I have a hope in something far greater. I believe that 2000 years ago a man known as the Son of God, the Messiah, the Christ, Jesus – died on the cross for my sins so that I don't deserve any of those things. It has nothing to do with what I've done – it's all about what Jesus did.

So – he's preaching “you deserve rape”. Well that is kind of harsh. Let me put it this way.

Jesus taught this:
Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Really? If a man looks at a woman to lust after – he's committed already. Now, knowing this women go and dress in such provocative ways that may lead men to lust after a woman – and therefore has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Ladies – as harsh as this is going to get. You dress in that sexy outfit the guy looks at you in that way. You smile – well guess what. You just fucked the guy in your heart.

So – why would one be deserving of rape if they're dressed in a provocative way?
Again – Jesus said some harsh things:
Luke 17:1-2 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!   2  It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Essentially – as harsh as it gets, woe unto the person who causes one to sin. If you know that guys ogle you when you're wearing that skimpy dress or that really low cut shirt, or that mini dress – based on what Jesus taught woe unto you.

As harsh as that may seem – you can have hope. Jesus died on the cross for you, so that you wouldn't be deserving of anything bad to happen to you.

If there's one thing I have learned recently – if something bad does happen to you even if you are a believer – know that someone greater is coming because God allowed that to happen to you, so that he could show you his glory.

Anyways – I shall continue on....

Now – I have an issue when he says “Most of your dads, are ashamed of you”. Is this true? Is your dad ashamed of you? Or does your dad even know all the things you've done? The truth is – as it is in a lot of scenarios in this generation – one of the parents isn't in the picture for the most part and your dad may not even know what you're doing – and furthermore may not have seen you in a long time. Although I may agree if the person's dad is in the picture that your dad may be ashamed of what you're doing – in most scenarios, I blame the fathers for not having done their job as a father.

Now – just because a father hasn't done his job – doesn't mean that what happens in today's world is right. We should teach the older generation where they fell short – and not teach them in speaking – teach them with our actions. You'd be surprised at what they'd say and probably see how much more proud they are of you.

I say that because – after Jesus was baptized – the heavens opened and God said “This is my Son – in whom I am well pleased” - and this was Jesus doing this of His own free will – without his Father always be present and having to tell him what to do every step of the way.

Continuing on.....

It then shows a woman saying to him “I once heard you say that woman shouldn't be allowed on campus and they should be essentially in the kitchen.”

Now in an off scene thing it shows him refer to Ephesians 5:22 “Wives submit unto your husbands.” Now – for that I wrote a whole other blog that I won't re-write here, but you can check it out here:

Next it shows Jessica saying “you know – if he really wanted to bring people into christianity, he'd be better off to hold up a sign and that says – Have questions about Christianity? And be there with a guitar playing songs”

Oh – how people outside of a belief system are blind to people from within the belief system. The other day I walked outside of a big shopping mall and saw some Jehovah's witnesses standing there with all their books and a sign that said “what the Bible really teaches” - I stood there waiting for the bus for about 10-15 minutes and in that time not one single person asked them anything or approached them.

Christians never stayed silent since the beginning of Christianity. Peter and John taught all over. Paul went to Rome and taught in the Roman temples. Peter, John and Paul did that to the point that people wanted to kill them. Paul eventually was and Peter was crucified upside down.

Let's hold up a sign she says. How many people were killed for holding up a sign for a belief system?

Is he right when he says - The people on this campus need a double dose of the Word of God??? Well that may be an understatement. They may need a triple dose or more. I'd like someone reading this who isn't a practicing Christian to give a few verses from the Bible. Could be anywhere and tell me what it teaches based on those few verses.

I probably have 5-7 sermons I can deliver right now based on a few verses I know off the top of my head, and I'm only asking you for one.

When he continues on – he starts to open up how he is probably one of the most hated people in the city. I'll tell you right now who hates him. The people who are guilty of all the “sins” he talks about.

As much as Jesus taught about love – it wasn't the people who loved him who Crucified Him. It wasn't the Romans who Crucified him. It was the Jewish Leaders who were guilty of all the things Jesus called out on. Just go read Matthew 23 and see why they wanted to kill him. Again – for those who say Jesus didn't judge – I dare you to go read Matthew 23. Beautiful Chapter, you'll love it!

It then shows the guy talking to some people on the corner – and they tell Dean to get a real hobby. Dean is genuine in his response, asks the guy for some of his hobbies, and this leads to the one guy saying “Not being a fucking asshole”.

Who's the bad guy here?

- The lady in the red hat

It gets good when this one lady wearing a red ball cap starts saying that he's like hatred and God doesn't hate on anybody? Oh really? I'd like to know what verses of the Bible she's read and ignored to understand that God doesn't hate.

Perspective time:
If God loves life, then God would hate death, right?
If God loves purity, then God would hate impurity, right?
If God loves faithful people, then God would hate unfaithful people, right?

I love the people(note the sarcasm) who don't have a relationship of any sort with their “God”, who don't read the Bible, etc. - yet these same people can tell me that they know more about my God then they do. Interesting.... That's like saying to Rocket Designer that he doesn't know what he's doing and you don't have the slightest bit of knowledge about rocket design – yet you're going to tell the Rocket Designer that he doesn't know what he's talking about. Really? Really?! Think about this for a moment.

Anyways – this same lady in the red hat says it's interesting how he says he hates everyone. Really people – don't put words in someone else's mouth. He said they were going to hell. Now – the term Hell shows up in most places in the Bible as two original language words. In Hebrew the word is Sheol, and in Greek the word is Hades. Both these words mean Grave. When someone dies they are going to Sheol or Hades and this means they are going to the grave. WOW! Isn't this what atheists have said for years? Nothing new here – but again people would rather listen to that priest on Sunday than read what their bible actually has to teach them.

She then says that God doesn't judge. Really? I think she should go read the Old Testament – or again go read Matthew 23 – because God Judges a lot. In my mind she's an ignorant lady who needs to get a double dose of the word of God – and well a few prayers would also help.

Then she has the nerve to say “maybe you should get your dick sucked” - amazing how he wasn't doing anything wrong yet she has to go and say those things. Some ignorant people don't know how they prove the Bible true all the time. The Bible teaches people are evil and wicked. What did she say to him again?

What are my thoughts on this guy?

He has some points I agree with 100% - but at the same time – I have my differences.

Depending on comments - I may perhaps right another message.
