The Connecticut Massacre

Ok - how do I go about saying something without getting misunderstood?

Well, lately we had the shooting massacre in Connecticut.  Yes this is a tragedy.  Yes, this shouldn't have happened.  The reality of it though is this:  It did happen.

So yes, I've posted many pictures on facebook about shooting/guns and many other things.  Does this mean I support the Adam Lanza for what he did?  Definitely not.  But just like each and everyone of you, I'm to love my neighbours.  I'm even to love my enemy.

So - just to re-iterate, I don't support the Adam Lanza for having shot so many people, but I do love the guy.

Here's why....have you ever placed yourself in someone's shoes?

This guy, was brought up in a home, but one question is:  Where was his father?

You hear so much about his mother and what she did to raise him but where was the dad?  In one article - I've read Adam hadn't spoke to his dad in over 2 years.  What happened just prior to that separation - Adam's dad left his mom.

So - that's one thing - soon we will get into cause & effect.

First - keep in mind that Adam also had Aspergers.  Here's a few facts about Aspergers:  "People with Asperger’s syndrome have difficulty with social, emotional, and communication skills, as well as unusual behaviors and interests, according to the Center for Disease Control."

Now - let's discuss the mom for a moment - keep in mind she just went through a broken marriage.  She was probably seeking a love/satisfaction that she was no longer getting at home from a husband.  She had a son in Adam who had Aspergers, so if he had emotional issues, she definitely wouldn't be consoled at home from Adam, so she did what she could to get some comfort, she did what she could to feel as though she had a sense of purpose.  So a question to be asked is - was she being as good a parent towards Adam since her divorce?  Probably not.

So in essence, you end up with a child with Aspergers syndrome - again one who has difficulty with emotions and social aspects and even communication.  This then becomes very difficult as what was he feeling when his parents divorced?  How did he express this, if he did at all?

Yes, he probably did end up all "messed up" and/or "Crazy" as some people would say, but just who's fault was that?  Perhaps the dad's, perhaps the mom's, and/or perhaps society as a whole.

So, the fact that Adam killed 26 people, was an effect of something.  My question is what was the cause?
Well we just went through some facts.  We also went through some possibilities based on the facts.

I've even heard someone say "Yes, but I would go seek help if I was thinking about killing people" - yes a normal person has potential of doing that.  A person with Aspergers, they too have potential of doing so, but they need the right support system in place.  Take that away, and/or take his family away, and you end up with someone who has nobody to talk to, and a situation like what happened in Connecticut happened.
I feel sorry for the families who've lost people in this tragedy.  I pray that God would be with them during this Christmas season and would be with them forever even after this Christmas season.

I too feel sory for Adam.  All the judgement that the World has placed on him, without trying to really understand what he went through.  Now - this judgement I feel isn't right and true, it's based on what the media has hinted towards.  Really - this is a judgement that comes from people who lack God in their lives.
Obviously - Adam and his family lacked God in their lives.  Had Adam's father known God, he wouldn't have seeked a divorce.  Had Adam's father not divorced Adam's mother, they'd be a family, and this whole situation perhaps could've been avoided, yet most people don't look at it like that.

I pray for you all, that this wouldn't happen to you.  Please, allow Christ into your homes this season.
